Wind and sunshine

I am not a fan of wind, especially the kind that has turned my sweet good sleeper into a sad wriggly baby who wakes up screaming in pain. Needless to say, we're all pretty exhausted these days. I have started doing tummy rubs and leg manipulation after every feed (What did parents do before they could google 'burping' or 'how to eliminate gas pains' and watch instructional videos about 'bicycle legs' on Youtube?), but I'm hoping the Infacol we picked up at the pharmacy yesterday improves the situation even more.
My bright eyed boy.

When he is not full of gas, Ivor is a happy guy. He is so alert and loves taking in the scenes around him. As a result, he now enjoys 30 minute spurts on his play-mat (I now consider this time as mommy free-time and I am pretty sure I enjoy it more than Ivor does.), reading his books, wiggling, kicking, stretching and going for walks.
8 weeks old. Stretching those legs.

He is growing like a weed, but I swear he channels all his energy into growing his legs longer and stronger. (Do they make a 'long and lean' style of baby clothes?)
These legs are constantly going, even during his feeds.

Yesterday, Ross put him on his tummy and told him to crawl to me for his dinner. Ivor managed to kick and wiggle himself halfway across the couch in frustration! I dread the day he works out how to actually use those muscles to get where he wants...

I hear the frustrated tones from the play-mat which indicate that playtime is over, so I'll end this entry with the best picture I've managed so far of the two of us.

Enjoying the unusually warm weather.

  1. Mobile at 8 weeks?! You have an athletic prodigy on your hands! Good luck continuing to bicycle out has gas. A mom's job description is so interesting! :)
